Privacy policy

• Messages you send. When you contact us, we keep your name, the email or Nostr address you give and your message, so we can reply.
• Chat conversations. Megistus AI runs on an open-source model on Megistus's own hardware, so your chats aren't sent to an outside AI company, and we don't keep transcripts. A message drafted from the chat is kept only if you choose to send it. To prevent abuse, we briefly remember your network address, for up to an hour.
• Server logs. Our server keeps standard request logs, including network addresses, for security and reliability.

Your browser keeps a few small settings so the site remembers your choices. They stay on your device, aren't used to track you, and there are no cookies:

• Display choices, such as light or dark mode
• Notices and introductions you've already seen
• Your chat choices for this visit

Some last until you clear them; the rest end when you close the tab.

• Hetzner provides the server in the EU that runs this site. Contact messages and request logs stay on that server.
• Resend delivers the email that tells us a message has arrived, with a copy of what you sent.

We don't sell your information or share it with anyone else, and we don't use it for advertising.

We collect only what the site needs, limit who can see it and use secure connections. No system is perfectly secure, so we won't claim ours is. If a breach ever affects your information, we'll let you know promptly and explain what happened and what we're doing about it.

We keep contact messages while we're talking with you and for our business records afterwards. Ask, and we'll delete them.

You can ask to see what we hold about you, have it corrected or have it deleted. Email info@megistus.xyz or use the contact page, and we'll reply within 30 days.

If we make an important change to this policy, we'll post a notice here for 30 days and email anyone we're in touch with before it takes effect. Small fixes just update the date below.
